One of the Best Golf Courses in Yorkshire
The course has evolved over time with input from some of golf’s most respected architects, including Old Tom Morris and Harry S Colt. More recently, in 2000, Donald Steel added three new holes, further enhancing both the challenge and character of the layout.
Widely regarded as one of the best golf courses on the North East coast, Cleveland is also proud to be ranked 8th best golf course in Yorkshire by Top 100 Courses.
Set out as a traditional links design, the course stretches along the Yorkshire coastline, with the 9th hole marking the furthest point from the clubhouse. As a true championship links, it provides a stern test for the most accomplished golfers while remaining enjoyable and playable for higher handicaps when approached with the right strategy.
The real beauty of Cleveland lies in its ever-changing nature — no two rounds are ever the same. With shifting winds, firm ground, and coastal conditions, the course continually presents a fresh challenge and rewards thoughtful, adaptable golf.
