About Cleveland

An Authentic Links Experience

Founded in 1887, Cleveland Golf Club has proudly been part of the rich tradition of links golf in the North East for well over a century.

Yorkshire’s Championship Links

Nestled on the North East coast, Cleveland Golf Club holds a unique place in the golfing landscape: we are Yorkshire’s only true links course and the oldest course in the county.

Over our long history, Cleveland has earned a reputation as a championship venue, hosting some of the region’s most prestigious events and welcoming golfers from across the country — and the world.

A Complete Golfing Experience

We’ve made significant investments in our course and facilities over recent years, ensuring we continue to offer a top-tier experience for both members and visitors. The course is walkable and relatively flat, and a challenge for the low handicapper whilst remaining playable for the higher handicapper.

As a true links, we’re sand based, which means we are playable and in top condition year round, meaning members and guests can have as enjoyable (if slightly colder!) round in December as in the middle of summer.

More Than Just a Golf Course

At Cleveland, golf is just the beginning. With nearly 140 years of heritage, we’ve grown into one of the most complete clubs in the Tees Valley area. Our passionate team is here to make every visit memorable, offering expert coaching, outstanding hospitality, and a warm Yorkshire welcome.

Come and experience what makes Cleveland Golf Club a standout among the top golf courses in Yorkshire.
